Hejaz railway station
The grand Hejaz railway station, completed in 1917, was the northern terminus for the proposed Hejaz railway planned by the Ottoman Empire, built to ferry pilgrims to Mecca for the hajj;
WWI battles destroyed the railway and the station is still closed today.

Bab Tuma (meaning: "Thomas's Gate") is a borough of Old Damascus in Syria, one of the gates inside the historical walls of the city, and a geographic landmark of Early Christianity. It owes its name to Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ.
